Fundraiser To Defend Ball's Bridge and The Little Lakes Area

In September, the Ontario Land Tribunal will hear our case against the gravel mining company Lobo/Van Bree Sand & Gravel, and decide the fate of our community.

The next month is a crucial phase in our campaign to stop a below the water table mine from harming wetlands, wildlife habitat, lakes and the Maitland River. Research carried out by our group has found that there are already over 50 pits on the Maitland/Bayfield watershed. We do not need one more! To make a strong case at the hearing, we have hired lawyers and experts well-versed in fighting the aggregate industry.

This is an important event and we need you there to stop them from hauling our future away. Generations before us have enjoyed this area and future generations deserve to have the same.

It will be an exciting evening of music, art and discussion.

Food and Refreshments will be served. Food is being provided by local Huron County businesses (Maitland Market, white Carnation, Meeting Place Organic Farm, Firmly Rooted Organic Farm).

Your ticket cost is to cover our expenses for the event.

Agenda: Doors Open 7:15 pm, Food and Refreshments until 7:45 pm

Entertainment start at 7:45 pm Including the debut launch of the Oratario of Hope- "The Road", an original composition by local composer S. Campos. Other performances TBA.

Renowned Environmentalists and Experts and speakers will also be delivering poignant presentations to summarize the situation.

Event Ends at 9 pm
