Hello all! We would love to see you all for a fun filled afternoon and evening that will be happening on Saturday July 22 at Balls Bridge and Little Lakes Area.
This event is to invite EVERYONE to, to bring us together as a community of people that care about preserving this beautiful area that we all treasure so much. We must step up and show our concern by being active participants of these types of events to show that the Little Lakes area is NOT a place for a gravel mine!
The event is called "Art Hike, Lights and Open Mic" and is a celebration of the beauty and natural wonder of the area, and to help fight to protect it from a proposed gravel mine- Let's make sure they don't haul our future away. When we come together as a community we can fight this, but it takes all of us!
The event will begin at 4 pm:
- between 4-7 pm there will be a self guided "ART HIKE" with prints by local artist Elizabeth Van Den Broeck all the way along Little lakes rd to the Bridge to her home.
- from 5-6 pm - "Nature Bingo" for children: they will have a bingo card and discover different "natural wonders" along the way on their walk to check off on their cards
- 6 pm BBQ at Balls Bridge- lots of goodies for all! Please bring cash for this.
- 7 pm-9 pm - "Open Mic" live music starting on the banks of the Maitland River by the Bridge- WE WELCOME ANY ONE WITH MUSICAL ABILITY to come and play/sing a song or 2 - SEE NEXT POST if you would like to select a time to perform for us all (note that there is no power so this is an acoustic open mic event)
- at 9 pm we will have a Bridge Lighting Ceremony - ALL ARE WELCOME TO COME LIGHT CANDLES on the Bridge AND MAKE A WISH FOR THE FUTURE OF THE EARTH AND THE LITTLE LAKES AREA
- you are welcome to stay and take photos and be part of this amazing event!
Thank you once again for your support and we look forward to seeing you on July 22. PLEASE SHARE AND INVITE EVERYONE YOU KNOW!
