Help us Protect Ball’s Bridge, Little Lakes Road, and the Maitland Valley: WRITE NOW

We still have a fighting chance.

We need your help to protect this environmental and cultural treasure from endless gravel extraction. It’s our water, our air, and our health at stake — write to the ACW now to demand that our counsellors take action:

  1. Pay for the cost of experts at the Ontario Land Tribunal to present real facts on the damage this proposed pit could cause. This will benefit ACW, all constituents, and visitors to the area.

  2. Adopt a gravel moratorium or Interim Control By-Law (ICBL) to pause the licensing of any new pits in ACW until such time as regulations pertaining to aggregate mining have been updated.

  3. Adopt the new standard ”Air Quality ByLaw Resolution” currently being adopted by cities and towns around Ontario, most recently Caledon and Burlington.

  5. Communicate why YOU care about the Maitland River, Little Lakes Road & the Balls Bridge area. Sharing your unique experiences and specific details about how you use the space is valuable. Do you fish, canoe, kayak, hike, forage, birdwatch, have picnics, go on dates? Show how you are emotionally invested in protecting this historic area.
